On the move

Italians aren't really into breakfast. All they basically have is some sort of pastry and some coffee. Cyndie and I just hit up the local markets and get a bunch of fruit to help our hunger needs. There was a market literally right outside our hostel door in Rome in the street.

Market

After making some pit stains, white knuckling the steering wheel, and having some heated discussions with my side kick we finally made it out of Rome in the rent-a-car. We drove a couple hours north to Siena through some small towns with old castles. Siena was all kinds of crazy. The streets were these tiny little narrow break roads encased by these mid evil style apartments, churches, and monuments.

We're staying at a straight up youth hostel. There's a bunch of kids getting drunk on the roof and a old school game room with a ping pong table. Cyndie and I are going bunk bed style

I forgot to take a picture of the Ferrari that we rented today. I'll have to snap a pic tomorrow to show you.

We made some last minute change of plans and we're skipping Florence to go hike here:

The Cinque Terre is noted for its beauty. Over centuries, people have carefully built terraces on the rugged, steep landscape right up to the cliffs that overlook the sea. Part of its charm is the lack of visible "modern" development. Paths, trains and boats connect the villages, and cars cannot reach it from the outside. It is a very popular tourist destination.

Beautiful hiking spot! I was telling Shebana about your trip (Cyndie met her I think) and she said to be sure and hike Cinque Terre and visit all 5 towns.
You sure have a cute bunk-bed mate!
